Celebrate Recovery: A Safe Place to Be

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and to celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the "8 Recovery Principles."  These principles parallel with the teaching of Jesus we know as The Beatitudes.  This experience allows us to "be changed." By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.  Many who have come through the familiar 12-step program of AA will find a very comfortable place at Celebrate Recovery.

Alcoholics and drug addicts make up only 30% of Celebrate Recovery's membership nationwide.  "We are all broken," program founder John Baker says. "We have all sinned. We have all missed the mark. We are all struggling with a hurt, habit or hang-up. It's time for the church to be a safe place--'safe place' are key words--for hurting people to discover and receive Christ's healing grace."

New Hope Community Church is one of those “safe places,” and you are invited to Celebrate Recovery THIS Friday night!  We begin with a very casual dinner at 6:00 p.m., then Worship, Teaching and Testimonies at 7:00 p.m.  Open Share groups meet from 8-9 p.m., and we conclude the evening with “Cafe' Connection” at 9:00 p.m.  Currently we have Open Share groups (gender-specific) for:

Young Teen Men's Addictions, Women’s Food Addiction, Women’s Sexual Abuse, Women’s Co-Dependency, Women’s and Men’s Chemical Addiction, Men’s Sexual Addiction.

On different nights of the week, we also have “Step-Study” groups, where we journey through the 12 step-based program at an even deeper level.  If there is not a group listed that interests you, come and join us for dinner and the large-group gathering until 8:00 p.m.

If you know of someone that might benefit from this ministry, please be sure to pass the word!
